From the moment Alardyce joined Sunderland this was always going to be a story, if it has any truth or not, I wouldn’t have a clue, but this sort of link was always going to occur with BFS love of Carroll and of his style of play.
I keep hoping Carroll will come good, and he may be fit now but he certainly seems to have lost some skill in all these long lay offs, the Chelsea goal aside he has hardly done much right, deserves to be 2nd or even 3rd choice on what I have seen.

Let's see how he does in the next few games...as he can't move until January...
Hope he stay's fit so the club can make a decision based on ability...performance and finances...and we do have the option of selling him rather than having to keep him if he gets injured again...

I don't really see any evidence that BFS 'loves' Carroll, as for example he has with Nolan down the years, and he already has Fletcher up there who can play that type of role.
Much higher chance IMO that Collins will go there in Jan, and I don't think we would loan Carroll out.

I really want it to work out for him here. He's a good lad, he's settled down away from the bad influence, and at times his performances have been top drawer.
But I just don't see how it will, given the way we're playing - high energy, front man working the channels, front 4 interchanging positions - other than a Plan B option if things aren't working out, I can't see a role for him.
